Little Candles: Art & Craft Class

Hi.. Hi.. Hi.. ini dia liputan terbaru tentang kegiatan Little Candles :) Hari Sabtu kemarin, 16-11-13, kita adain yang namanya Art and Craft Class.. Ada 6 anak yang join.. dan guru kita kali ini adalah cici Marsheilla (adiknya koko DM) yang memang udah hobi and ahli dalam bidang ini, hehe..

Karena waktunya singkat, ada 2 things yang kita coba bikin kemaren ini.. First, kita bikin coasters (tatakan gelas) dari kain flannel.. mereka bisa pilih mo bikin bentuk apple or lemon :)

Ga tau kenapa anak-anak yang cowoq pada milih bikin apple, and yang ceweq semuanya milih bikin lemon, haha.. So, pertama-tama mereka harus bikin pola/pattern-nya dulu..

Setelah itu, digunting and dijahit.. Nah, tahap ngejahit ini yang paling menantang, bahkan buat beberapa dari mereka ini adalah pertama kalinya mereka megang jarum and benang jahit lho.. :) But semua akhirnya berhasil.. So proud of them! Look how serious they were, haha..

Kedua, kita belajar bikin pom-pom dari kertas krep.. Kalo yang ini gak terlalu susah and cepet buatnya :)

After selesai kelas, kita juga sempet rayain bday Friska yang ke-9.. I made chocolate pancakes to celebrate her bday.. Happy Bday Friska! We love you.. ^^

So.. begitu deh kira-kira liputan singkat tentang kegiatan Little Candles kemarin.. We wanna say THANK YOU once again to cici Marsheilla for teaching us and for investing your time + skill for us.. May God bless you!! :)

Flat Stanley Visits Cambodia

Okay.. let me continue my story..

After visiting Vietnam, we took about 6 hours by bus from Saigon, Vietnam to Phnom Penh, Cambodia.. We did a city tour and then went to another city called Siem Reap to see the most famous temple and the largest one in Cambodia called Angkor Wat.. Actually, we also went to some historical places in Phnom Penh, but sorry I didn't take a picture over there.. I think it's too dangerous and scary for the kids..

Anyway, we only spent about 3 days in Cambodia, but I really had a great time :)

Beside the city tour, I also joined Marcella to do children ministry in a place called Kampung Chnang.. wow, there are so many kids live in there.. We gave them food, milk, snack and also vitamin :)

I have Cambodian friends.. yay! :D

Last thing that you have to know.. There are so many exotic food in Cambodia.. I'm not brave enough to try those food.. I even didn't want to touch them, haha.. but at least, I could take a picture with them :p

Ok, I think this is the end of my story.. we went back to Vietnam by bus, stayed about 2 more days in Vietnam and then went back to Jakarta.. I really enjoyed this 10 days trip :) Now, I have to go back to my home town in Ohio, USA and share this story to them.. Hope I will see you again next time, Marcella.. God bless you! ^^

Flat Stanley Visits Vietnam

Hi... Flat Stanley is back! :)

Last year I came to Indonesia and Marcella took me to so many places in her city, Jakarta. You can read my previous story here:

This time, The Schneider's family sent me to Indonesia again.. but Marcella had another idea.. She took me to travel with her to 2 different countries, to Vietnam and Cambodia! We spent about 10 days (January 15-24, 2013) and I really had a great experience :)

Few days before traveling, she dressed me up first with a Vietnamese dress and also their flag :)

So, the first day, we went to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) city in Vietnam from Jakarta by plane. Here is my ticket :p

And I had Vietnamese noodle, called Pho, as my first meal in Vietnam.. yummy.. :)

There are so many beautiful places in Vietnam.. and also historical places.. I learned a lot about their history..

We also went by plane to another city called Hanoi (the capital of Vietnam). We did a city tour and took a cruise to one of the most famous places in Vietnam called Ha Long Bay.. it's so beautiful!! I love it!

We also went to another city called My Tho and to some shopping area.. I also took pictures with some Vietnamese people, hehe..

Little Candles: Making 3D Christmas Cards!

Ini adalah liputan aktivitas terakhir Little Candles di thn 2012...

Hari Sabtu, 8 Dec 2012 kemarin, ada 7 anak yang dateng ke rumahku untuk belajar bikin 3D Christmas Cards! Kali ini yang ngajar adalah cici Cinthya, plus ada koko AW juga yang dateng untuk bantuin, hihi.. (special thanks to both of you..!)

Ryu, dateng paling awal.. and daripada bengang-bengong nungguin yang lain dateng, akhirnya dia bikin kreasi sendiri deh di dalem ruangan Little Candles.. kaget juga pas aku masuk and saw what he did.. so proud of you, Ryu! :)

Kita ngajarnya dibagi 2 session, karena ada 4 anak yang dateng di awal and 3 anak agak telat.. but all of them did a great job! Semuanya bisa selesai bikin and keren-keren hasilnya.. sorry to Ian, karena kamu ga kefoto.. hiks.. :(

And seneng juga, karena mereka bisa tulis pesen and kasih card ini ke ortu mereka masing-masing.. nothing more special than handmade gifts! hehe.. Kapan-kapan bikinin buat cici Cella yak, haha.. *ngarep* :p

Selain itu, aku juga siapin Christmas cookies buat mereka (yang aku bikin and bisa kamu liat resepnya di post sebelumnya) biar makin berasa suasana Natal-nya, haha.. So, wow.. gak berasa yah Little Candles udah berjalan setaon! Kita juga udah punya beberapa plan activities buat taon 2013.. so excited!! woohoo!! :D

Little Candles: Origami & Paper Craft

Udah lama nih gak post tentang kegiatan Little Candles :) Terakhir kalo gak salah yang kita bikin donuts bareng-bareng, hehe.. And akhirnya Sabtu kemaren (29/9/2012) kesampean juga buat adain kelas "Origami and Paper Craft" :D

Kali ini ada 7 anak yang hadir, and kita punya special teacher, yaitu cici Fiona (hehe..) and dibantu juga sama cici Shellfia :) They did a great job! And kita belajar bikin macem-macem...

1. Belajar bikin bintang.. Simple buat kita, but it's not that simple buat mereka :p Beberapa anak perlu berjuang juga buat bikin bintang2 ini, but beberapa ada yang berhasil.. Jadi pelajaran baru juga buat mereka ;)

2. Origami.. Tadinya udah disiapin 3 macem sama cici Fiona (ada kodok, bunga sama bangau) but karena waktu agak terbatas, jadi cuma belajar bikin kodok aja.. Sori, lupa difotoin kodoknya :p

3. Paper Craft.. Nah, ini yang paling seru and anak-anak paling demen kayaknya, hehe.. And tujuan utama cici Fiona sebenernya emang mo ngajarin yang satu ini :) Seneng banget liat hasilnya, aku aja demen, hihihi.. Liat aja nih foto-fotonya..
